The Power of Asking Questions and Learning Without Fear

Last summer, I taught a Python programming course. I had a student who often asked very basic questions in class. At the same time, he had learned a few technical words and would say things like “I will do this” or “I will do that,” even when he didn’t. Some of his questions were so simple that other students sometimes laughed.
In class, I repeatedly reminded everyone that no one has the right to make fun of someone for asking questions. Respecting each other is important. We managed the class with this rule.
Regarding this student and questions in general, I want to share a piece of advice: if you are a student in a university course or a private training program, ask questions freely. Do not fear judgment. People have different backgrounds and levels of knowledge.
If something is unclear to you, not asking a question may cause you to miss future topics. Even if the topic seems small, not asking can make you feel uncertain. Your mind may focus on that doubt and reduce your concentration.
So, ask your questions freely and bravely. All teachers who choose to teach do so with kindness. They want to help. Your question will always be answered.
